Police Department Staff

Jay Sheridan, Limon 4, Forever and for always in our hearts.

Jay Sheridan, an officer with the Limon Police Department, was killed Wednesday March 9th 2011 in the line of duty protecting our community, and he was laid to rest on March 15th, 2011.

It is a loss deeply felt by fellow officers, town employees and the community in general. Please keep Jay’s wife, family and others involved eternally in your prayers. Please take a moment and remember our public safety officials across our state and nation; be they police, sheriffs, state patrol, marshals, military or corrections officers. Our public safety officials face dangers every day. We thank them for their service.

  • Lynn Yowell is the Town of Limon Police Chief, Limon 1, since 1998 and has been with the Town since 1985.
  • Russell Lengel is the Town of Limon Police Sergeant, Limon 2, since 1998 and has been with the Town since 1992.
  • Brianne Stum is the Town of Limon Police Administrative Assistant / Court Clerk and has been with the Town since 2010.
  • Fred Wyler is the most senior Police Officer, Limon 3, with the Limon Police Department and has been here since 1978.
  • Sean Nielson is a Town of Limon Police Officer, Limon 5, and has been here since 2012.

The Limon Police Department is a member of the 18th Judicial District Critical Response Team. C.R.S. 16-2.5-301 “Each law enforcement agency shall post the protocol on its website or, if it does not have a website, make it publicly available upon request. The protocols required by this section shall be completed and implemented by December 31, 2015.
